A Nonprofit is Born

The Alta Ski Patrol successfully raised revenue for years through the sale of T-shirts in the Germania and Collins top shacks. The Ski Patrol traditionally used funds raised to provide emergency assistance to patrollers, their families, and other ski patrols in times of crisis. In recent years, profits also funded the Alta Community Enrichment WEXL Grant, the Adam Naisbitt Living Memorial project, and provided local skiers a low cost opportunity to participate in the Groundhog Day Race.

In January of 2019, Alta Ski Lifts management informed the Alta Ski Patrol that it needed to establish a separate entity from Alta Ski Lifts Company in order to continue fundraising and event hosting within the ski area. On their own time, a group of patrollers created a 501(c)3 organization to ensure the continuation of valuable programs initiated by the Alta Ski Patrol. Amazing Ski and Snow People incorporated in July 2019 and received IRS confirmation of nonprofit status in September 2019.

Amazing Ski and Snow People looks forward to a continued partnership with local businesses and nonprofits as it hosts events that bring the Little Cottonwood Canyon community together while enjoying skiing and the mountains.

Vision Statement

“We provide opportunities for the Alta Ski Patrol family to build relationships with local, national, and international mountain communities based on a shared passion for snow and skiing.”
